You’re at the airport. The excitement is real… until the person at the counter starts speaking fast Spanish and you freeze.
Don’t worry. This guide turns that stressful moment into an adventure. I’m going to take you on a virtual trip from the moment you land until you’re comfortably exploring a new city — teaching you more than 50 essential words and phrases along the way.
Chapter 1: You Just Landed
The plane doors open. You smell different air. You follow the signs and hear: “Pasaporte, por favor.”
- Pasaporte – Passport
- Tarjeta de embarque – Boarding pass
- Vuelo – Flight
- Puerta de embarque – Gate
- Recogida de equipaje – Baggage claim
- Maleta – Suitcase
- Equipaje de mano – Carry-on
You finally get your suitcase and head to customs. The officer asks:

You smile and reply: “Turismo.”
Chapter 2: Getting to the City
You’re outside the airport. Taxis are waiting. You approach one and say:
