You can study all the grammar you want, but if you don’t use the expressions that real people use every day, you’ll still sound like a foreigner.
This guide will teach you the most common fillers, expressions, and slang that Spaniards and Latin Americans use in daily conversations so you can sound much more natural.
1. Basic Fillers (Muletillas)
These are the words natives use to fill pauses:
- Pues... → Well... / So...
- Bueno... → Well...
- O sea... → I mean... / Like...
- Vale → Okay / Got it (very common in Spain)
- Ya → Yeah / I see / Already
- Claro → Of course
- Exacto → Exactly
- Total... → Anyway...
